H.P seems to have supported Linux to some degree. For example I have worked with a number of their Linux compatible Printers. And the company certainly has the potential to support Linux more fully.
Perhaps they are concerned about staying in Microsoft’s good graces, but they have been slow about adopting Linux as an alternative on the computers that they sell to the public.
But there has been some progress. Although I did not see any announcements made about this by the company and it seems like they are keeping quiet about this, Hewlett
On one of their web pages they did something that will disturb many of the Microsoft Sheep out there, they referred to the Linux system they are offering as being user friendly.
Also with a price tag of only 279.00 it is a very competitive offer.

It is Ubuntu, it’s well known that HP got Canonical to develop a HP branded version of Ubuntu called “Mobile Mi” (or what ever they’re calling it now). It’s a shame because the way they got it developed, you’d think they were ashamed of calling it Ubuntu.

I see that they have disabled the command line “in this edition”.
Which just about knocks it on the head for me. GUIs are all well and good but there is always *something* that can be better achieved via the CLI.
